Attacker tells court: I killed Ellen in park
A MAN has admitted the sexually motivated murder of a teenage student.
Mark Buckley, 51, killed Ellen Higginbottom, 18, in a daylight attack in a park.
He stole her laptop and mobile phone, then left her for dead at the beauty spot, where she had gone to meet friends after college.
Only child Ellen, of Worsley, Gtr Manchester, died from multiple wounds to her neck.
A spade and a leather belt were found close to her body in Orrell Water Park, near Wigan.
Buckley admitted murder. Neil Fryman, prosecuting at Manchester crown court, said: “There was a sexual motivation and it was premeditated.”
Buckley, from Preston, Lancs, will be sentenced next week.
