Scotland to end pay cap

SCOTLAND is to scrap the 1% cap on public sector pay rises from next year.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said future increases would be based on the cost of living. She added: “Nurses, teachers, police and firefighters deserve a fairer deal.”

It will heap pressure on Theresa May to do likewise for the rest of the UK.
