Mel ex wants divorce fight to be in public
MEL B’s husband Stephen Belafonte is fighting her bid to keep future divorce proceedings private.
The ex-Spice Girl blindsided him with damning divorce papers that alleged he beat and exploited her.
The Leeds-born mum, 42, also claimed he got their nanny pregnant.
Belafonte, 42, who wants a chance to reply, says Mel is trying to hush up claims about her, including an alleged addiction to cocaine and booze.
His court papers state: “It is hypocritical for a public figure who has ‘chosen to be in the limelight’ to seek secrecy.”
A source told the Mirror: “Stephen is devastated at what he has been accused of. He says Mel’s claims about him are totally false.”
