Air-gun death boy named as cops appeal to climbers

- BY MARTIN FRICKER

A BOY who died after being shot in the head with an air-gun pellet has been named as Alexander Moroz.

The tragic five-year-old was rushed to hospital in the early hours of August 27 but passed away three days later.

Dad Genadij Moroz, 32 and mum Viktorija, 40, of Leicester but originally from Lithuania, are “heartbroken”. Genadij, who has two other sons, said: “One minute he was here, the next he was gone. His organs could save six lives so that is something for us to be proud of.” The death at Loughborough, Leics, is being treated as unexplained. Two adults arrested in connection with the incident were released. Officers want a group of rockclimbers seen in the area the previous afternoon to come forward. The inquest will be opened today by Loughborough coroner’s court.
