Blunder over face biopsy

A HOSPITAL has apologised after medics took a tissue sample from the wrong patient’s cheek.

Three staff face disciplinary action for the biopsy on the man last month.

The man shared only a middle name with the intended patient at Birmingham City Hospital.

But English was not his first language and it is thought he did not realise what medics were doing.

Bosses have launched an inquiry and apologised to the unnamed man.
