HE CHEATED ON ME WITH LOOKALIKE

My boyfriend of seven years cheated on me with someone who looks like me and even has the same profession. A year later he tried to get me pregnant, but then decided to go back to her.

Then a few weeks ago he came over again, saying he doesn’t see a future with his partner – apparently she is “awesome”, but I am “something else”.

So I slept with him (I know, stupid) and then of course he went back to the other girl, confessed everything and is now claiming she is pregnant with his baby. I don’t think it’s actually true, but it’s so hurtful.

To complicate things further, my period is late, but it could be down to stress I guess. I cannot deal with the anxiety any more – what is wrong with him? I should add that he has the cheek to treat me as if I’m some kind of psycho stalker, even though he’s the one doing all the chasing. It’s bizarre.

I hate to break it to you, but this guy is never going to give you what you’re looking for – commitment, respect and love.

You’ll never be able to trust him and you’ll always be wondering when he’s going to do his next disappearing act.

You’ve already given him seven years – don’t give him another seven minutes. You need to break the cycle of this boomerang relationship or you’ll never allow yourself to move on.

Take a test to find out if you’re pregnant. If you are, and decide to keep the baby, then you should tell him as he has a right to know.

But don’t expect anything from him. I doubt you’ll be able to rely on him as a parent and will have to accept that you’ll be doing it on your own.

He’s likely to boomerang in and out of the child’s life, too.
