According to a poll of 2,000 Brits, nearly a quarter of us would rather check Facebook or Twitter when we wake up in the morning than have sex with our partners.

The research by jam maker Duerr’s also found women prefer a kiss and hug with their other half to start their day on the right foot. But the most popular wake-up call is sunshine pouring through the window, according to one in three people who took part in the survey.
