Portuguese chief blasts Hammers owners in amazing rant

- BY DARREN LEWIS

WEST HAM will pursue their libel action against Sporting Lisbon after the club’s owners were described as the “D**do Brothers” by the Portuguese club. David Gold and David Sullivan (far left) were insulted by Sporting president Bruno de Carvalho (left) in the row over midfielder William Carvalho. The Irons are refusing to comment, but De Carvalho’s claim that West Ham lied over making a late bid for Sporting’s Euro 2016 winner is seen

at the London Stadium as a clear case of libel. De Carvalho has called on fans to challenge the “D**do Brothers” for what he described as “the truth” over the move for the midfielder. Speaking to Sporting TV in Portugal, he said: “Where is it? Proof? Now, approaches, for sure. I’ve had them for almost the whole squad. “West Ham fans call Mr David Sullivan and his brother, the D**do Brothers. The president of West Ham… We must tell the truth!” De Carvalho also ridiculed the Irons’ poor start to the season and claimed Sullivan did not want the Portugal star for Slaven Bilic (above). He added: “The man wanted to give him to the manager as much as I wanted to give a Christmas gift to my enemy.”
