George fans’ fury over remix

-

GEORGE Michael fans were not happy after “new” material released yesterday turned out to be an old track remixed.

Fantasy was first released in 1990 on UK single Waiting For That Day and in the US on Freedom ’90.

One fan blasted: “New track is actually one of his old tracks and sounds worse then the original.” Another raged: “Remixing an old song & not a good one either. It’s rubbish!” In a letter to Chris Evans, who debuted the track on his Radio 2 show, George’s long-time collaborator David Austin said George had revisited the song last year. He said: “George phoned up Nile Rodgers, his good pal, in early 2016 … and Nile has reworked the record.” George died on Christmas Day.
