‘Paedo ring victim’ may face charges
A SUSPECTED fantasist could face charges over his claims he was raped by a VIP paedophile ring.
Detectives have spent 10 months investigating the man, named only Nick, on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
Earlier this week they passed a file to prosecutors, who will now decide whether to press charges.
Nick’s claims led to Operation Midland, with high-profile individuals accused of rape and murder. They included late ex-PM Sir Edward Heath and former Home Secretary Lord Brittan.
Northumbria Police also probed a suspected fraudulent Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority claim. They said: “To date nobody has been arrested.”
