‘Swimmer raped me, after I had sex with his Team GB pal‘
A TOP swimmer allegedly raped a young student after she had sex with a fellow athlete from the Team GB Olympic squad, a court heard.
Commonwealth Games star Otto Putland, 23, is accused of getting into bed with the 19-year-old after she had consensual sex with his best friend Ieuan Lloyd.
She told Cardiff crown court: “I told him, ‘What are you doing – you can’t just pass me around’. He said, ‘We’re not passing you around’.” The student said she slept with Lloyd, 24 – a two-time Olympian who swam at London 2012 and Rio 2016 – after bumping into him at a nightclub. She claimed Lloyd then “abandoned” her, let Putland into his bedroom, and left. She claimed she texted a friend in distress, but no record has been found. Putland, of Hereford, denies rape. The trial continues.
