Club’s plea to fund star’s op
A NON-league football club with a crocked star striker are raising funds for private surgery to avoid losing him for two seasons as he waits for an NHS op.
National League South side Poole Town are crowdfunding £8,000 to fix Luke Roberts’ ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
They say the 24-yearold, who has netted 38 times, is vital to the team.
Boss Philippa Daniels said: “If we get the op done fairly early there’s a chance he could be back for the start of next season.”
