LION’S CUBS ARE BETTER THAN ALL EU
DAVID WAGNER believes that England’s best youngsters can beat anything that Germany has to offer. But the Huddersfield head coach is frustrated as his own club are finding it so tough to produce youth talent. Chairman Dean Hoyle is so angry with the Terriers’ failure to bring on young players he could shut their academy. Wagner (left) is keen to give youth a chance, but has had to import it. Yet he is adamant England’s best young players are an improvement on what he saw coaching in Germany. Wagner – Borussia Dortmund’s reserve-team boss for four years – said: “I have worked a long time in Germany. “From what I’ve seen in England, there is unbelievable talent and potential in players who are 19, 20 and 21. I don’t think England has a problem.”
