WHAT IS IT?
Hirsutism
Excessive hairiness, mainly occurs in women.
The additional hair is coarse in texture and grows in a male pattern on the face, trunk, and limbs. In the main, it is not a sign of any disorder; it occurs mildly in many normal women, especially after the menopause.
On the other hand, hirsutism can be a symptom of certain conditions such as polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) in which the level of male hormones in the blood is abnormally high.
