Get in lion for a drink

GULP! This thirst-class photo captures 19 lionesses and their cubs as they form an orderly line to drink from a river.

Photographer Bernhard Bekker, 40, is full of pride for the early morning snap he took at the Kruger National Park in South Africa. He said: “It’s a once-in-alifetime event. One by one they came down to the water and filled in the gaps next to each other, and started to drink.

“Before the first lioness raised her head, the last baby came.”
