YOUR SHOUT

-

Cyclists and joggers (a tiny minority of whom are rude and selfish), please do not rant at me, again, for airing readers’ views:

Fiona, you were spot on in your article concerning cyclists on pavements. I’m a doorman at a five-star hotel in Kensington and stand on the pavement outside, day and night. I think I’m going to require danger money soon as it’s turning into a cycle lane. The foul verbal abuse I receive from these “cycling fascists” is unprintable, especially when I dare to remind them that pavements are for pedestrians. Daniel Kirby, via email

Fiona, visiting London to see my daughter, I was strolling on a crowded pavement by the Thames when a women jogger ran in between us and elbowed us out of her way. I screamed a string of expletives after her but she didn’t turn a hair... disgusting person. Mary Lord, via e-mail

Fiona, I am concerned at the way our society is going. I’m 86 and live near Fulham Palace in London. Every day I have to be very careful on our pavements because of cyclists. I used to shout at them but stopped, because of the f-word. I will not lower myself to respond to that. The other worry is young mothers who do not watch their kids on those metal scooters. Wallace Thornton, via e-mail FP: Those scooters can be really dangerous, Wallace, especially if they hit you at great speed. My sons used to have one – I wouldn’t let them near pedestrians.
