DE BOER: GIVE ME TWO MORE GAMES

- BY MARC ISAACS

FRANK DE BOER insists he needs two more games to get things right at Crystal Palace. The Eagles boss (left) has suffered a nightmare start to life in England, losing his opening three Premier League matches, and has been warned tomorrow’s trip to

Burnley is win or bust. But the former Ajax coach, who held a two-hour meeting with chairman Steve Parish over the international break, says it takes at least 10 games for a manager to bed in. The Dutchman, who took over from Sam Allardyce, said: “Normally, you have 10 games to think, ‘This is the way we like to play’. “But we have only had four pre-season games, three Premier League games, and one cup game – that’s only eight games. “I still think we can improve a lot. We have to get rid of stupid mistakes, but I am convinced we are getting better.” De Boer won four Dutch titles in Holland but was sacked after 85 days at Inter Milan. The 47-year-old says the next two games, against Burnley and Southampton, should give him the time to get things right. He added: “If I leave this club, I want to leave through the front door, not the back door. “They can always say afterwards, ‘He did everything he could, always 100 per cent’. I will do that.”
