MONK: I WANT BEN OUT OF 10

GARRY MONK has pledged to get the best out of Ben Gibson.

The Boro defender was retained despite relegation and interest from the Premier League. That could wreck Gibson’s England prospects, but Monk says he will continue to improve.

Asked if playing in the Championship ended Gibson’s World Cup hopes, Boro boss Monk replied: “It’s not my concern. My concern is to get the best Ben Gibson on the pitch.

“I need to get what’s best for Middlesbrough Football Club.”
