Trapped Brits texted goodbye to folks

-

TERRIFIED British tourists sent emotional goodbye texts to their family, thinking they would not survive the deadly storm.

Amy Glasgow, and her boyfriend James Nixon, both 26, were forced to shelter in a derelict hotel. Graphic designer Amy texted her parents, saying: “You’re the best family I could have wished for. If something does happen to me and James, know that we love you all.” The pair, from Eastwood, Notts, were among 200 Thomas Cook clients driven from Cayo Coco in central Cuba to Varadero, 260 miles west. Amy’s dad, Kevin, said: “Amy and James were terrified. They thought they were going to die.”

Thomas Cook said: “The safety of our customers is our first priority. “
