Mogg belongs in the 18th century
I wonder what Tory Jacob Rees-Mogg’s views are on the scandal of child abuse that engulfed the Catholic Church for decades? Surely, the rights of children already here are just as important, if not more so, as those of the unborn child.
Jacob Rees-Mogg really is a relic of the 18th century, as he treats us like the poor, uneducated peasants that existed during that historical period.
Thankfully, the overwhelming majority of today’s Catholics are able to make their own judgments on sensitive issues and do not live in fear of the church’s wrath.
If Mr Rees-Mogg is the best the Tories can think of to replace Theresa May, then they are in deep trouble.

Jacob Rees-Mogg is the absolute personification of how out of touch the Tories are. No one better represents the few like this man. This shows why they are losing out to Labour – they are an out-of-touch minority, with this out-of-touch relic as their poster boy. Labour’s campaign group Momentum is so successful because it relates to the grass roots supporters. This guy can only relate to the Toriest of toffs or anyone born in the 18th century!

I find Jacob ReesMogg’s antiquated views on gay marriage and abortion deeply offensive. To suggest that abortion is wrong, even in cases of
rape and incest, is simply breathtaking in this day and age.
That he is even being considered as a replacement for Theresa May just shows how out of touch the Tories are. How he was even elected as an MP in the first place is mindboggling.

Perhaps Jacob Rees-Mogg should think about how a rape victim feels – an experience that must take a very long time to get over, if ever.
To be forced to carry your attacker’s child for nine months and then, possibly, hand it over to someone else to bring up, would, I’m sure, damage the poor victim for the rest of her life.

According to the scriptures, it’s easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man, such as multi-millionaire Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg for instance, to enter into the kingdom of God. Perhaps Mr Rees-Mogg thinks he
can buy a ticket to heaven.
Bill Dodwell, Cheltenham, Glos
How the Tories can say they are a progressive party is laughable with this old dinosaur and his religious ramblings. If you want Britain to be stuck in a time warp to your children’s cost, then vote Conservative.

I agree with Jacob ReesMogg that the unborn child has a right to life. It is a sickening reflection of our trashy society that a percentage of women use abortion as a form of contraception.
