Fit-again Eden believes Blues’ time has come

- BY JAMES NURSEY

EDEN HAZARD says he is desperate to win the Champions League after “hating” having to watch it on television last season.

Chelsea’s attacking ace made his first Premier League appearance of the season in the 2-1 win at Leicester.

And the Belgium star (above) is now ready to play at home against FK Qarabag in the Champions League tomorrow.

Antonio Conte’s Premier League champions are back in the competition after missing it last season when they failed to qualify.

Hazard, a semi-finalist in 2014 with the Blues, said: “This year is really important.

“I just reached the semi-final with Chelsea, when we lost to Atletico Madrid, so it’s in my head to win this trophy. I have won the Premier League, I have won the title in France, I have won cups, but big players always want to win the Champions League. “I think now it is time to win this. We have a good squad, we have a good manager (Conte, below), so we are ready for it. “As a player you want to be in the Champions League, but last year we just had to watch it on the television. That isn’t a good feeling. “I hate having to watch it, I don’t like watching any games.” Hazard, 26, returned from injury for Belgium during the international break and is pleased to be back in Chelsea colours, after coming off the bench at Leicester. He added: “I feel ready, ready to be part of the team.”
