Frank draws a blank but Silva is star

-

I READ an interview with Frank de Boer last week in which he said one of his top qualities win, lose or draw was never getting flustered.

Well, that has been to his detriment at Crystal Palace and had he flung the odd tea cup he might now still be in a job.

Players want managers to show them, A, that he cares; B, that he’s in charge; and C, that he’ll lead them out of the rut they’re in.

But De Boer hasn’t done any of that. Compare the way his reign at Palace went with the way Marco Silva’s is going at Watford.

Silva has gone in and been no-nonsense, decisive, he has worked on getting his ideas across on the training ground and shown his personality and leadership.

Watford are flying as a result, De Boer has been pushed through the exit.
