No night spot, Nile

-

NILE RANGER will miss Southend United’s trip to Shrewsbury tonight because he is under curfew.

The striker, 26, was released from prison in August, having served 10 weeks of an eight-month sentence for online banking fraud – but is still wearing an electronic tag.

Ranger featured in the Shrimpers’ previous two games, but manager Phil Brown has revealed the 7pm curfew will prevent him playing in the 7.45pm League One kick-off.

Brown said: “His curfew is 7pm until 7am and it doesn’t look like we can play Nile.

“The tag is causing me a problem. I’ve been in touch with governors, as opposed to coaches, about what systems we should play.“
