Murphy fights to get a break

SHAUN MURPHY had to work for his place in the first round proper of the Indian Open.

Facing home player Pandurangaiah in the wild-card yesterday, the world No.5 battled to a 4-2 win. He lost the opener and did not get a half-century break until a 66 in the last frame.
