ROSS KEEPS OWLS FLYING

-

Sheff Wed 2 Brentford 1

ROSS WALLACE made it two home wins in four days for Sheffield Wednesday.

A goal just before half-time from Gary Hooper to level Nico Yannaris’ early strike for Brentford was followed by a close-range finish from Wallace on 70 minutes.

But Wednesday were made to work through 13 minutes of stoppage time after a head injury to Brentford right-back Henrik Dalsgaard and the Bees hit a post through Neal Maupay with the very last kick of the game.

Brentford took a deserved lead on 10 minutes through Yannaris’ left-foot volley, which was parried into the goal by Wednesday keeper Keiren Westwood. But Hooper equalised for the Owls, before Wallace stabbed in.
