TEAM-MATES gave Yaya Toure the Ederson treatment yesterday – as Pep Guardiola gave him a boot up the backside!

Guardiola omitted Toure, 34, from his squad for City’s Champions League opener – and he has yet to play this season.

Guardiola, who gave Toure a new, 12-month contract at the end of last season, has challenged him to improve. And he was on the receiving end from Eliaquim Mangala and Benjamin Mendy (above) in training.

Guardiola said: “I spoke with him and he knows the reason he is not playing, but it’s between him and me. It’s a sporting decision.

“He was so important last season. Six players finished their contract and he was the only one who stayed – because he’s a special player. But the decision is that he didn’t play the last game and today he is not in the squad – and he knows the reason why.

“Hopefully, he will play again soon, it depends on the player.”
