A third of those whose funding was cut as PIP replaced disability living allowance now struggle to pay for food, rent and bills, found the poll of more than 1,700 claimants.
Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary Debbie Abrahams said: “It’s shocking and an indictment of the Tories’ punitive assessments.”
Phil Reynolds, co-chairman of the Disability Benefits Consortium which produced the poll, said: “PIP is failing many people.”
The Department for Work and Pensions said official figures show 76% of PIP claimants are “satisfied”.
