Ford has facelifted its Mustang with new front and rear bumpers and a new bonnet that’s lower and features air intakes. Other changes include more power for the 5.0 V8 engine which now has 450bhp instead of 435bhp and a new 10-speed automatic gearbox. Also, the ‘Stang now comes with a range of driver assistance systems that will help it score more highly in the Euro NCAP safety ratings.

Ford predicts that the new Mustang will be able to accelerate to 60mph in less than 4sec. Impressive, but most of us love the Mustang for its looks, sound and image, not its performance. I hope Ford doesn’t spoil the car in pursuit of higher numbers. The Mustang is perfect as it is and didn’t need a facelift.
