WE’RE BAK, BAK, BAK SAYS KANTE

- BY DARREN LEWIS

N’GOLO KANTE reckons new £32million midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is the future at Chelsea.

The Frenchman (left) came on to score in the 6-0 Champions League demolition of Qarabag.

And Kante believes the 23-year-old is a more than able replacement for £40m Nemanja Matic, who left for Manchester United in the summer.

Kante, 26, said: “Nemanja was a good player for us. We spent a good season together. He has left, but Bakayoko has come and he’s a good player – and we can do very well with him.”

The France midfielder has also warned Arsenal to beware of Chelsea this weekend, with the champions ready to avenge their FA Cup Final defeat. Kante added: “We played against them in the FA Cup Final, in pre-season and in the Community Shield.

“I think they know how we play – and we know how they play.

“It’s going to be a good fight and we really need to be ready for Sunday’s game because it’s very important for us.”

Last season’s Footballer of the Year is also keen to forget past glories, remarking: “I don’t feel like the player of the year. I don’t really care about it when I play – I just try to do my best.”
