‘Don’t be a slack Jack’

- BY SIMON BIRD

FALLEN star Jack Rodwell has been told to face up to his Sunderland critics.

Manager Simon Grayson has admitted it has become “difficult” for Rodwell who has been “singled out” for criticism at the Stadium of Light.

The former Everton man was signed for £12million and handed a bumper contract. Ex-Black Cats boss David Moyes claimed Rodwell was the only player in his squad who did not have a clause halving his pay when relegation hit.

Grayson is picking up the pieces and said: “It is now down to Jack to say: ‘I have got to prove people wrong’. I have to show people why I signed for this football club.”
