Vegan demo ‘intimidates’ mum in shop
A MUM claims her family were intimidated by vegan activists holding a silent protest in a supermarket.
Louise Kirby, 38, said her two daughters were so scared, her nine-year-old shouted: “I’m a vegetarian!”
The mum of four, who was in the meat aisle, said: “They were standing there really staring at me while holding their placards.
“They upset my twoyear-old and scared Sophie so much she randomly shouted she was a vegetarian.” Louise, of Bolton, told security and the group was escorted out of Sainsbury’s.
Bolton Chicken Save, behind the protest, said: “Our aim is to promote veganism peacefully. We’re sorry the lady felt we were there to intimidate her.”
Sainsbury’s thanked its staff who stepped in.
