Back in old routine

-

I WON’T pull any punches – Crystal Palace sacking Frank de Boer after only four Premier League games is obscene.

After Neil Warnock, Tony Pulis, Alan Pardew and Sam Allardyce, Palace have gone back to tried and trusted British managers and I wish Roy Hodgson all the best.

Roy’s a lovely bloke with a lifetime of football experience. But aged 70 and after the bruising way it ended for him as England boss, why is he putting himself in the firing line again?

He did an excellent job at Fulham and West Brom, but what has he got to prove by taking on pointless Palace?

Like Harry Redknapp, English football’s other 70-year-old, maybe Roy just can’t let go.

But turning Palace around will not be a walk in the park.
