ITV hit­maker quit­ting Thames af­ter 20 years

THE boss of the firm that makes X Fac­tor and Bri­tain’s Got Tal­ent has quit af­ter 20 years.

Richard Hol­loway is leav­ing Thames days af­ter we re­vealed Amelia Brown is to run X Fac­tor as she is seen by Si­mon Cow­ell as an in­no­va­tor. In 2012 Hol­loway was at the cen­tre of an X Fac­tor fix row. He whis­pered to judge Louis Walsh dur­ing an ad break and it is be­lieved he asked him to save Ry­lan Clark.

Hol­loway, Thames’ man­ag­ing di­rec­tor, has worked with Cow­ell since Pop Idol in 2001 and run all 14 se­ries of X Fac­tor since it be­gan in 2004. He said: “I’m in­cred­i­bly proud to have been at the helm.”
