GOLDEN OLDIES BOOST LEEDS
ROB BURROW and Danny McGuire rolled back the years as they prepare to bring down the curtain on their Leeds careers. The veterans have contributed as much as anyone to the Rhinos’ golden era since 2004. They will depart Headingley at the end of this season and could yet bow out with an eighth Super League title.
After Liam Sutcliffe (right) finished strongly for the opening try, Burrow and McGuire combined to devastating effect. Burrow broke through the Salford defence and sent the supporting McGuire scampering under the posts.
It was a try that typified their talents as the Rhinos move ominously towards their home play-off semi-final. With Salford having thrown in the towel on their play-off bid, Tom Briscoe crossed for a third Leeds try.
After the break, Matt Parcell grabbed a brace with further scores from Adam Cuthbertson, Anthony Mullally and Brett Ferres.
