BREAKFAST INDIGESTION
# I cannot believe what a load of tosh BBC Breakfast TV is! Three hours of repeats of the same news and weather items. First time viewed and definitely the last. What a waste of our licence fee. Susan Coupe, Middlesbrough, Cleveland # Theresa May blew £140million of taxpayers’ cash on her disastrous snap election. The sum included more than £42m sending leaflets. That Tory money tree is still giving, coupled with at least £1bn of public money to seal a “grubby deal” to the DUP.
Mrs May has put the UK in a more disadvantaged position for Brexit talks with the EU. Andrew Nutt, Bargoed, South Wales # I have every sympathy with low-paid workers both in the public and private sectors.
I would however, be more sympathetic to any strike being called if the Union leaders donated their very large salaries to the members striking. I imagine on the day of a strike they don’t even lose any money as they are so busy giving interviews to the media! Susan Fella, Enfield # I think the idea for new communal underground rubbish bins is brilliant, as most people in my street haven’t got bins due to the back step of the property being too high.
These new bins will reduce infestations and the streets will be cleaner as a result. Natasha-Victoria o’Hara, Stockton-on-Tees
