Koala’s trip down under
A KOALA clutches the strut of a car after surviving a 10-mile journey inside the wheel arch.
The driver heard her crying after stopping his vehicle and was amazed to find her there.
Animal rescuer Jane Brister, said: “I have never seen anything like that. She was wedged in tight, so I got underneath the car with a head torch and all I could see was a furry lump.”
Christened Kelly, by carers, she is believed to have crawled in while the car was parked in the hills outside Adelaide, South Australia’s state capital city.
After two days of treatment, when vets saw the six-year-old had lost her baby, Kelly was released back into the wild.
