The former X Factor winner says of Melissa Bell, 53, who was in Soul II Soul: “The thing that will drive me is my mum. My being on the show was a dream of hers, as well as mine, so doing the best I can means a lot.”

She told the Radio Times: “My mum was my biggest critic and turned me into a perfectionist. Everything I do is for her. So when I step on to that dance floor I want to make her proud.” Melissa died shortly before the show launch, which Alexandra, 29, did not attend.
