WOLVES’ BRIGHT FINISH

-

BRIGHT ENOBAKHARE hit the crucial extra-time winner for Wolves.

But Rovers’ Marc Bola had come within a whisker of ending an unwanted 44-year-old record to give the Championship high-fliers a scare.

The left-back almost had his name up in lights as Darrell Clark’s men scented an upset. He thumped a 72nd-minute drive that was tipped on to the post by stand-in home keeper Will Norris. That was as close as either side came to scoring, as the Pirates eyed reaching the fourth round for the first time since 1973.

Wolves boss Nino Espirito Santo had made eight changes to the side that defeated Nottingham Forest.

And striker Michael Zyro missed two good chances – before Enobakhare settled the tie in the 98th minute.
