Holby star frantically loofahs off his dancing tan to film medical drama
HOLBY City’s Joe McFadden says his Strictly Come Dancing fake tan is wreaking havoc with his day job.
Joe, 41, is shooting the hospital drama alongside his dance training, and has to scrub off his spray tan to ensure he doesn’t look too sun-kissed as doctor Raf di Lucca in his scrubs.
The Scottish actor said: “I’m supposed to be in hospital every day. I’m filming Strictly and Holby at the same time, so I have to scrub it [the tan] off with a loofah. Baby oil takes it off, but it takes two or three days.”
He added: “At least I get to be brown for a few days, then it has to come off.” Joe also said he is keen to show off his newly toned legs, after dance partner Katya Jones whipped him into shape.
He said: “I can’t wait to get my kilt on because I actually have all right legs. I’ve lost a bit of weight. My friends have noticed. My legs have been killing me. My thighs, calves, toes, arches.
“But I’m getting lovely calf muscles,” he told the Mirror at the National Lottery Awards in Central London.
And Katya revealed that Joe is “not a fan” of the Cuban heels she has him wearing for this week’s jive routine, saying: “Muscles he did not know existed are coming into play.”
