BBC2, 8pm This is all about cooking with joy – and Nadiya Hussain’s fabulous outfits are pretty joyful too.

In tonight’s episode, the theme is food to share – you see, it couldn’t get more heartwarming if it tried.

The Kings from London are cooking against the Codougans from Northamptonshire. The Kings have a family motto – “backbone” – which they hope, along with some yummy food, will see them into the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, the Codougans say for them, it’s always a party in the kitchen. Caribbean-born mum Jacqueline and her children Chantal, 24, and Dom, 23, are always singing and dancing as they cook. Quite funny in contrast with the more reserved King family, who look rather bemused.

And Giorgio Locatelli and Rosemary Shrager are there, of course, to cast a professional eye over the dishes and pick a winner.
