Gene study ‘to boost IVF’
RESEARCH by British scientists could help to transform IVF treatment.
A team at The Francis Crick Institute managed to “switch off ” a gene which proved essential in a fertilised egg for it to result in a successful pregnancy.
They said the technique could be used to identify other genes crucial for embryo development.
Dr Kathy Niakan said: “This could be used to help improve IVF treatment.”
