Having scratched their mark in the post-Goth indie stakes, Faris Badwan’s crew up the ante for album number five.

Unfortunately that can lead them to a sound rather like U2’s stadium rock.

The search for bigness can bring emptiness and pumped-up bluster drives the swirling Press Enter To Exit.

Machine is a better track, but like several here it’s in need of some judicious editing. However, the atmospherics are well handled throughout, maintaining the group’s sculpted individuality.
