Wenger: Alexis is not Don yet
ARSENE WENGER claims he was not making an example of Alexis Sanchez by making him play 90 minutes against League One Doncaster.
The Chile striker – whose move to Manchester City collapsed – was left on the bench for last week’s Premier League draw at Chelsea. But he was forced to play all of Wednesday’s 1-0 Carabao Cup win. Wenger said: “I gave Sanchez a long holiday. He came back not very fit, then got injured.
“I left him on the pitch against Doncaster so he could have a real go.”
