Abuse ordeal in Apprentice star’s MP bid

- BY JOHN VALE

A FORMER Apprentice winner who stood as an MP says she doubts she will try again because of the abuse she suffered.

Michelle Dewberry, 37, said the attacks were “next level” and it was “carnage”.

She stood as an independent in her hometown seat Hull West and Hessle in this year’s election.

She told the Big Tent Ideas Fest in Berkshire: “The abuse was enough to make me question whether I would stand again.

“I’ve never experienced anything like it.”

Ms Dewberry said the abuse appeared to come solely from the Labour Party, including being heckled at a hustings event. Twitter accounts were set up to abuse her.

She came fourth out of seven candidates.
