CHESTER STAYING POSITIVE

-

Wakefield v Wigan Super 8s, KO 3.15pm CHRIS CHESTER insists Wakefield have made significant strides this campaign despite missing out on a top-four spot. Several narrow defeats – including to St Helens and Hull FC in their last two outings – saw Trinity drop out of the running in the final straight. But ahead of today’s visit by Wigan Warriors, coach Chester (above) said: “We’ve had a fantastic season and just fallen short these last couple of weeks. “The width of the posts, in both those games, has really hurt us. “I think there were six results this season where we’ve been beaten in the last few minutes. “Had we had a little bit more luck we’d be in a semifinal – but it wasn’t to be, and we haven’t been consistent enough in these last six or seven rounds. “But we’ve made some real progress this year and we’re looking to go one step further next year.”
