CARSLEY: I’LL KEEP IT SIMPLE TO REVIVE BLUES
You must do better if you want England glory says Toon boss
RAFA BENITEZ has warned Jamaal Lascelles to knuckle down and improve if he wants to play for England.
LEE CARSLEY has told struggling Birmingham it’s time to go back to basics.
The Blues have claimed just four points to date and sacked boss Harry Redknapp. Carsley (above) has been placed in caretaker charge and is out to stop the rot at old club Derby today.
He said: “The key messages have been very simple – this is how we’re going to build, this is how we’re going to play through, this is how we’re going to finish, and this is how we’re going to press.
“I don’t want to overload their minds and give them too much to think about.
“But I thought it was important there were some elements that needed to be addressed and hopefully we’ll be better.
“As a player, I always performed better when I knew what my role was. And I’m hoping that’s the case on Saturday.
“I hope the fans can see a higher intensity.”
