N Korea: Our rockets may soon be ‘visiting’ US mainland
NORTH Korea has threatened to fire rockets at cities in the US as their nuclear stand-off escalates.
Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho said American President Donald Trump was “making our rockets’ visit to the entire US mainland
THREATS Kim Jong-un inevitable all the more.” Trump responded on Twitter, using his nickname for Kim Jong-un: “If he echoes thoughts of Little Rocket Man, they won’t be around much longer!” Ri said in a speech: “Trump himself is on a suicide mission. In case innocent lives of the US are harmed because of this, Trump will be held responsible. He is a mentally deranged person full of megalomania and complacency.”
He said North Korea intended to have a “nuclear hammer of justice” against its rivals and boasted it was “a few steps away” from becoming a nuclear power.
Ri added that the American president had “committed an irreversible mistake”. US planes flew close to North Korea’s coast over the weekend in a show of force against Kim’s “reckless behaviour”.
The Pentagon said B-1B bombers and F-15C fighters flew north of the Demilitarized Zone separating the two Koreas. Dana White, spokeswoman for the American defence department, said it was “a demonstration of US resolve”.
