SHEENS AIMS TO ADD SHINE

- BY GARETH WALKER

PROMOTED Hull KR will target World Cup stars when their Australian coach Tim Sheens heads Down Under next month.

The former Kangaroos boss will return home during the close season with a remit of adding quality to his Robins squad.

Rovers bypassed Saturday’s Million Pound Game by winning their first five Qualifiers, and have already signed Leeds captain Danny McGuire (below) for 2018.

Sheens said: “Recruitment starts in earnest now and we’ve a fair bit to do to bring us up to another level – we need to be stronger and bigger.

“It’s the qualifying rounds of the World Cup I’m looking at, and a number of players. I already know what we want, it’s about going back and having another look. “Some of them have to qualify for a visa and getting in at the World Cup will help them. “The rules are pretty strong to get people in, and the Test matches will qualify quite a number of players.”
