MAURICIO Pochettino leapt to the defence of Serge Aurier after his full Premier League debut red card, telling him: search the internet and you can find many mistakes from me too.

Aurier (left) was sent off in Saturday’s 3-2 win at West Ham after picking up two secondhalf yellow cards in six minutes. The right-back arrived at Spurs from Paris Saint-Germain for £23million last month with a bad-boy rep, but Pochettino insists his dismissal was different.

The Argentinian said: “He needs to learn and improve. But when it’s a player that has just arrived and he is given responsibility to play this type of game, sometimes it happens. I was a player and you can find on Google many mistakes from me. It’s not a big issue.

“The team-mates love him and I am happy with him. His behaviour is fantastic on the team, since he arrived.

“The first yellow card, he didn’t deserve but I agree, maybe he needs to be careful.”
