HERE’S the first glimpse of ITV’s new adaptation of Vanity Fair which has rising Hollywood star Olivia Cooke in the lead role as Becky Sharp.

Cooke, who stars in upcoming Steven Spielberg movie Ready Player One, is seen cosying up to Tom Bateman as Captain Rawdon Crawley.

The pair will be flanked by big names including Martin Clunes as Sir Pitt Crawley, Suranne Jones as Miss Pinkerton and Frances de la Tour as Miss Matilda Crawley.

And that’s not all. Line of Duty’s Claudia Jessie (she was the nerdy PC sidekick to Thandie Newton’s character) is Becky’s confidante Amelia Sedley, while Simon Russell Beale and Claire Skinner play her parents. Michael Palin is cast in the role of the author, William Thackeray. Check them all out when the series kicks off next year.
